Violynn

Violynn: The Warrior Dancer

She has been one of the most potent gyarii, a skillful fighter and artist. Someone who lived as a free spirit and with her words and actions contributed immensely in securing peace and cultural flourishment. There can be no other reference than Violynn the Warrior Dancer.

Born in 403 F.A Violynn led a very disciplined life. She was indeed a prodigy child and in that regard she underwent strict physical and spiritual education. Being mostly feared or bullied by children her age, Violynn was mostly isolated from social groups. She would barely crack a smile, but despite that, she was mostly content with herself, able to rapidly surpass her seniors in any art that she would practice.

Battle of Aphelion

In her late thirties the warrior dancer fought in the third Aphelion war in 440. This battle was recorded as being mostly one sided for the gyarii, thanks to the recent invention of the golems. Nevertheless, Violynn showcased great military skills in both combat and tactics and it was one of the few times people witnessed her true power.

On the field stood another important figure alongside her, Yeersuef, one of her few friends and a fellow soldier. Together they were considered an unstoppable duo, admired by many warriors and civilians. Later, the two of them became the pillars of the military force and some of the most influential leaders of the gyarii civilization.

Minister of Art

Eventually at the age of 86 Violynn became minister of art and Yeerusef marshall of the military forces of Inmaar, the capital of the gyarii. Although Violynn was an extremely potent warrior, she wasn’t much keen on fighting rather than making art. Yet, her cold attitude and strict behavior was respected by everyone and even the king himself feared her. Thus, under the shadows, Violynn had the most influence in political power and due to her artistic spirit the gyarii knew great cultural flourishing and peace.

Violynn vs Demon

Yet, when Violynn had to fight she was indeed a spectacle to behold. Her nimbleness and dexterity alongside her precise movements and high spirit rendered her an unbeatable opponent.

Even at the face of a great foe, which was threatening to destroy the whole world, Violynn remained unfazed. Inside this fog of despair, emitted from the foe's body, Violynn stood calm and collected. Against this titanic enemy, when all hope was lost, she battled gracefully, dancing inside this all-consuming shadow and managed to save the city from total destruction.

Depictions

Her achievements would be depicted in illustrations and sculptures of the gyarii, always with a calm and cold expression on her face. An expression so imposing and beautiful, because even if it lacked the smoothness of youth it demonstrated wisdom, peace and freedom.

And a free spirit that did not fear pain or death.

Violyn vs Comiter

In fact it was death itself and the decay of beauty where she found inspiration during her late years of her life. That is why, oftentimes when she fought, she presented herself like a grim reaper, a reminder of the gyarii’ mortal nature. For, according to her conclusions, that time limit was the driving force, which motivated each life to build things, produce art and create.

Dancing

Violynn was also called Belanora, the dancer of the night. And she oftentimes would dance at night in a ritual manner inside a circle of ancient ruins. There, with a chorus of talented young individuals who played the instruments in exceptional manner, Violynn would express her inner peace and melancholy. And through this artful experience she would bring herself to a drunken state where she would find pleasure and happiness.

Yet, even at the late years of her life when she would only desire freedom and independence from any political or social issue, something awakened inside her upon hearing a specific beautiful song. A hopeful melody that inspired and motivated her for performing one important final act. An act that would play a role of utmost significance in the course of the gyarii’ history.

Finale

It is known that the souls and bodies of the gyarii consist of astral essence that upon death would take ethereal form and slowly ascend towards the sky and become one with the stars. That being said, before her final breath Violynn spoke these words: ‘Now I can dance amongst the stars’.
